Who we are
The Red Sea Institure is registered as a corporate body in Nairobi, Kenya, the Red Sea Institute is a research institution focusing on issues of strategic relevance to the peaceful and constructive cooperation among the countries of the Red Sea basin, including non-littoral states surrounding the Red Sea.
The organization is governed by its statute as a body corporate and is managed by two co-directors who report to an overseeing Board. It maintains and works with a network of highly qualified and experienced professionals, primarily drawn from the region.

The organization also intends to establish strategic collaborations with research institutions, professional networks, civil society organizations, businesses, and state institutions across the Red Sea region and beyond. In carrying out its mandate, it adheres to the values and principles of the United Nations Charter, the International Human Rights Convention, the African Union Constitutive Act, the International Law of the Sea, and recognized international business best practices.
